Creators & Makers

Promote responsibly, respect the space.

Creators & Makers

Submit is a space where creators, educators, performers, and makers are welcome. We believe sex work is work, and that everyone—whether sharing adult content, offering classes, making physical goods, or promoting events—deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported.

At the same time, not all users want to see promotional content. These guidelines help ensure that the platform remains welcoming and respectful for everyone.

General Requirements

1. Account Labeling

  • Individuals: If you’re an individual using Submit to promote or advertise your services, content, or goods, you must label your account as a “Creator” or “Maker.” You can find this setting here.
  • Organizations: If you’re operating an organizational account (e.g., a studio, brand, or event organizer), you are not required to use the Creator or Maker label, but you must select an accurate Organization Type in your settings.

2. Content Labeling

  • All promotional or advertising content must be explicitly labeled as such. Once your account is labeled appropriately or set as an organization, you will see the option to mark individual posts as advertisements.

3. Mandatory Compliance

  • Labeling is not optional. If you share promotional content without proper labeling, our moderation team may label it for you. Repeated failure to label your content will result in escalating enforcement:
    • First, a warning
    • Then, a temporary loss of posting privileges
    • Continued violations may lead to a timeout or permanent ban

4. Account Control

  • Accounts must be operated by the actual individual creating the content, providing the service, or producing the goods. Third parties—including managers, agencies, or paid services—may not operate accounts on someone else’s behalf.

What Counts as Advertising?

Advertising or promotional content includes—but is not limited to—posts that:

  • Contain links to external platforms where users can purchase content, book services, or make payments
  • Mention prices, subscription tiers, or offers
  • Encourage people to book, subscribe, or buy

What doesn’t count as advertising:

  • A link to a link-in-bio service like allmylinks or linktree
  • A wishlist link (e.g., Throne or similar)
  • A personal website that doesn’t include direct purchase or subscription calls-to-action on the landing page

These links are fine to include in your profile or a non-promotional post and don’t require the advertising label unless accompanied by promotional language.

Acceptable vs. Unacceptable Formats

We want to support creators and organizations while keeping feeds clean and engaging for everyone. Below are general guidelines and examples to help clarify what we consider acceptable.

Media (Photos or Videos)

  • Acceptable

    • A photo from a recent rope class with a small logo watermark in the corner
    • A video teaser for an event with a short link in the corner (e.g., submit.gg/event123, yourevent.com)
  • Unacceptable

    • An image with a full menu of services and prices
    • A text-only graphic listing subscription tiers, tip amounts, or personal service offerings (especially from individuals)

Captions (on any Media)

  • Acceptable

    • “Teaching a beginners impact class this Saturday in LA! 🎯 More info: yourwebsite.com/impact101”
    • “OnlyFans now 40% off! Subscribe today. All my links: allmylinks.com/username”
    • “New zine release! $5 at yourwebsite.gg/zines 💥”
  • Unacceptable

    • Detailed price lists or full service menus in the caption
    • Multiple platform links or payment method details in one caption (e.g., OnlyFans, Fansly, CashApp, tip jars all listed together)
    • Lengthy sales pitches or promotional text exceeding a short description, link, and single call to action

Status Updates / Writings

  • Acceptable

    • “We’re hosting a queer rope jam next month. $10 suggested donation. RSVP: submit.gg/queerrope”
    • “I’m teaching an online workshop next week — one-time class, link in profile!”
  • Unacceptable

    • A multi-paragraph sales pitch listing bundles, custom video offers, tipping instructions, and platform links
    • A wall of hashtags, links to several platforms, and repeated promo text across multiple posts

We know there are gray areas, and we’re happy to clarify as this policy evolves. When in doubt, ask: Is this meant to inform my community or to sell to them?

Where You Can and Can’t Advertise

  • ✅ Profile: You may include a short description of your work and one link to an external site or link-in-bio service.
  • ❌ Comments: Advertising in comments is strictly prohibited—this includes comments on your own posts or on others’. Zero tolerance.
  • ❌ DMs: Direct messages may not be used to send unsolicited advertisements or promotions. Zero tolerance.
  • ⚠️ Groups: You may only advertise in groups explicitly created for promotional purposes. For example:
    • ❌ You may not advertise floggers in a group about flogging techniques.
    • ✅ You may post a single advertisement in a “Floggers Buy/Sell” group, if your post follows that group’s rules.
    • Group moderators have the final say in what’s allowed in their group.

Identity & Verification

We reserve the right to request identity verification from any creator or maker at any time using a privacy-preserving process. Failure to comply will result in immediate and permanent account removal.

Best Practices for Creators & Makers

Submit is about authentic community and connection. We want creators and makers to thrive here—not just as promoters of their work, but as full participants in the social experience.

To that end:

  • Aim for a balance. We recommend that no more than 40% of your posts be promotional or advertising in nature.
  • Share more than what you sell. Let people know who you are, what you care about, and how you engage with your craft or community.
  • Respect boundaries. Not everyone wants to see ads, and that’s okay. Labeling your content ensures people can make the right choices for themselves.

Let us know if you need help getting your account or content labeled correctly. We’re proud to have creators and makers as part of our community, and we’re here to help you make the most of Submit.
